Casimba Privacy Explained

This site explains the privacy arrangements described in Casimba's Privacy and Cookie Notice. The account information, checks and marketing practices below belong to the casino operator and its named partner. They should not be read as a separate promise about how this site handles visitor information.

Who controls account information?

Casimba's notice names White Hat Gaming Limited, its operator, and Whitezip Limited, its brand-owning partner, as joint controllers. It assigns gambling-service purposes to White Hat Gaming and marketing purposes to Whitezip. The notice says the partner becomes the sole controller when their joint provision of services ends.

The operator gives [email protected] for enquiries to its Data Protection Officer. It also names GDPRLocal Ltd. as its UK data protection representative. If a concern remains unresolved, the notice identifies the Information Commissioner's Office as the UK supervisory authority to which a complaint can be made.

Information described in the notice

Casimba lists identification and contact details, including names, birth information, addresses and telephone numbers. Its notice also covers account credentials, banking information, transactions, wagers, correspondence and preferences for marketing or other communications. Technical information can include an IP address, browser, device, login information and location settings.

Support enquiries and complaints form part of the correspondence record. The operator says telephone conversations may be recorded for training, quality management and resolving queries. Health information or details of criminal offences are described as exceptional categories, collected for regulatory responsibilities or when a person supplies them, rather than routinely.

Collection and reasons for use

According to Casimba, information comes from forms, account activity, messages, cookies, server logs and comparable technologies. Third parties and public sources can supplement it for crime prevention or responsible gambling. Where an authorised third-party registration process is used, details can feed into the account profile.

The notice describes several grounds for processing: delivering contracted services, meeting legal duties, consent and legitimate interests that must be balanced against the individual's rights. Purposes include running accounts, handling payments, confirming identity and age, preventing fraud, providing support and improving the service. Casimba also uses account activity to monitor gambling behaviour and implement protection tools.

If required information is not supplied, the operator says it may be unable to provide the service and may need to cancel it. The notice asks players to keep their personal details accurate throughout the account relationship.

Sharing and transfers

Casimba says group members and service providers may process information on its behalf for the stated purposes. Other recipients can include verification agencies, financial institutions, regulators and police where relevant. The notice specifically names TransUnion and Equifax as possible sources of information about a player's financial position for responsible gambling duties. Self-exclusion information may be shared with GAMSTOP.

Information may move outside the UK and European Union. The operator says it takes protective steps where local safeguards differ, including contractual arrangements. The notice also allows disclosures required by authorities or courts, and sharing connected with a corporate transaction.

Marketing and automated decisions

Casimba says marketing communications require consent. Players can decline further promotional messages by contacting the operator or using the unsubscribe route in a message. Service notifications may continue after marketing is stopped. The notice also describes advertising measurement and personalised advertising involving Google and Facebook.

For gambling protection, some account locks or limits may be applied automatically. Casimba gives [email protected] as a route to challenge a decision and request human involvement. Its anti-money-laundering risk assessments are described as requiring human decisions.

Security, retention and requests

Casimba describes encryption and security measures intended to protect information, while acknowledging that online transmission cannot be guaranteed secure. It advises against putting sensitive payment details in email and asks players to keep passwords confidential.

The operator's usual stated retention period extends through use of the service and up to five years afterwards. Its notice allows longer retention for legal or regulatory duties and certain business or legal reasons, so account closure does not necessarily mean immediate deletion.

The notice describes rights to seek access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer, to object to processing and to withdraw consent. These rights depend on circumstances. Requests go to the operator's privacy contact; identity checks may be needed. Casimba aims to answer within one month, with longer handling possible for complex or multiple requests. Requests are generally free, but clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive requests may attract a fee or be refused.
